Research topics of our laboratory:
Scientific research conducted in the Computational Mechanics Laboratory covers a broad range of applications of computer science in technical sciences. Due to the location of the Laboratory at the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science, the vast majority of works and projects involve the application of computer science in metallurgy and materials engineering. Scientific research focuses on process simulation and optimization, multi-scale modeling, development of new computational methods and numerical tools, artificial intelligence applications and high-performance scientific and technical calculations.

We also offer postgraduate studies in Multicopter Engineering, combining theoretical knowledge with practical aspects of drone design, operation, control, safety and applications.

LCMDE at MSPO 2026 in Kielce
From 8 to 11 September 2026, the Laboratory of Computational Mechanics and Drone Engineering participated in the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce, Poland.
During the event, we presented our in-house developed aluminium drone frames as well as custom-designed 10-inch unmanned aerial vehicles. The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our current engineering solutions, exchange experience with representatives of industry and research institutions, and discuss potential directions for further development and cooperation.
